High School Classes-New Hope is affiliated with the Eldred Central School District, and offers public high school classes on site. When clients need just a few credits for graduation, it can often be arranged for them to get their diploma from the school district they were enrolled in before coming to New Hope. Clients who have fallen behind in classes can often catch up while in treatment.
Marist College Classes-By special arrangement with Marist College, courses for Marist credit are offered on site, free of charge to New Hope clients. Recent offerings include classes in psychology, literature classes, and computers.
GED Classes-Older students without a high school diploma are enrolled in our GED preparatory classes. Several clients a year obtain their GED while in treatment here. We provide classes on site and transportation to and from the exam.
Individual Tutoring-For those clients not yet ready for our GED classes, an individualized program that includes tutoring to their special needs is arranged.
Business and Computers Track-This track for high school grads or equivalent is more vocationally oriented. Offerings include courses on Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus, PowerPoint, Access, medical and legal transcription, resume writing, interviewing and career counseling.
