History of New Hope Manor
 Father Daniel Egan, S.A.
| New Hope Manor is a residential treatment community for women who are chemically dependant. It was established in 1970 by the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, on the grounds of Graymoor in Garrison, NY. It was borne out of Fr. Daniel Egan's experience with female substance abusers in Greenwich Village of New York City in the '60's.
The Manor was relocated to Barryville in 1985. It is now an independant, non-profit, non-denominational organization. It accepts residents from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. It offers high school diplomas through local school districts and on-site college courses under the accreditation of Marist College. It also offers a G.E.D. program, and a full range of vocational/educational services. |
